Aragonite is a carbonate mineral, one of the two common, naturally occurring, crystal forms of calcium carbonate. It is formed by biological and physical processes, including precipitation from marine and freshwater environments. Due to its' marine origins, it is also nicknamed "The Mermaid Stone." This necklace features a hefty chunk of Aragonite suspended from oxidized brass chain and a little bit of copper "fringe" to set off the stones' rusty hue.
